Tracey Bounds Named American Lacrosse Conference Player Of The Week – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – %^$Ohio State attacker Tracey Bounds (Jr., Ellicott City, Md./Mt. Hebron High School) has been named the American Lacrosse Conference Player of the Week for her outstanding play in 14th-ranked Ohio State’s (10-4 overall, 3-2 ALC) two games last week. She was also named an Honorable Mention National Player of the Week by insidelacrosse.com. Bounds had an outstanding weekend with consecutive six-point games for the Buckeyes. She had three goals and three assists in Ohio State’s 15-12 victory over 15th-ranked Penn State on Friday. Her second goal of the game at 49:18 was the winning goal, giving Ohio State a 13-9 lead. Against Davidson, a 13-3 OSU victory, Bounds had two goals and four assists.%^$
%^$With her four assists against Davidson, Bounds has broken the Ohio State season assist record. Her 24 assists this season broke the record of 21 held by Celeste Cianfrani in 2000. The 12 points on the weekend gives her 55 points (31 goals, 24 assists) on the season and ranks her second behind Megan Mirick’s 57. Bounds now has 119 career points (79 goals, 40 assists) and is tied for fourth for career points with Laurie Rybak (1996-99) (69 goals, 50 assists).%^$
