Carrie Weatherill Named The American Lacrosse Conference Player Of The Week – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State attacker Carrie Weatherill (So., Malvern, Pa./Great Valley High School) has been selected as the American Lacrosse Conference Player of the Week. Weatherill scored a game-high four goals in OSU’s 16-4 win over Northwestern to move to 5-0 overall and earning OSU’s first win in the ALC. Weatherill had her four goals in the first half as OSU built a 9-2 lead. With the score 4-2, she scored the game-winner on an assist from Tracey Bounds (Jr., Ellicott City, Md./Mt. Hebron High School) and added two more goals in a span of four minutes. She added her fourth goal on a free position to finish her scoring for the day.
Ohio State, ranked 19th in the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association poll, is now 6-0 overall after a 12-11 win over Delaware last Monday in a game played at Notre Dame. The Buckeyes face fifth-ranked North Carolina (5-2) at 5 p.m., Friday, March 29 in a game that will be played at Maryland as part of the ALC-ACC Challenge. OSU continues play in the Challenge at 11 a.m., Sunday, March 31 when they play seventh-ranked Maryland.
