Women’s Lacrosse Defeats Boston University, 16-7 – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State (4-0) women’s lacrosse squad remains undefeated on the season with a 16-7 win over Boston University (1-2) in a game played at the College of New Jersey Saturday. OSU’s Megan Mirick (Sr., Burke, Va.) scored a team-high five goals and added an assist against the Terriers. Buckeye Tracey Bounds (Jr., Ellicott City, Md.) had four goals for the Buckeyes with Regina Oliver (Fr., Pottstown, Pa.) and Kylee Reade (Sr., London, Ontario) scoring two goals each. Goals by Noemi Hites (So., Pleasanton, Calif.), Lauren Cochran (Sr., Coatesville, Pa.) and Caroline Weatherill (So., Malvern, Pa.) rounded out the scoring for Ohio State. The Buckeyes recorded assists by Mirick, Hites, L. Cochran and Shannon Wilson (Jr., Sherkston, Ontario).
Mirick’s six total points for Ohio State (five goals, one assist) made her the Buckeye career points leader with 142. She has 107 goals and 35 assists. She passed former teammate and now assistant coach Celeste Cianfrani (1998-00) who finished her career with 128 points (87 goals, 51 assists).
OSU’s Erin Forquer (Fr., Shaker Heights, Ohio) recorded 11 saves in her fourth win of the season.

Ohio State continues on the road next week with a 1 p.m., Saturday, March 23 game at Northwestern. The Buckeyes then face Delaware at 1 p.m., Monday, March 25 in a game played at Notre Dame.
