Men’s Golf Finishes in Tenth Place at UNLV Intercollegiate – Ohio State Buckeyes

%^$COLUMBUS, Ohio–The Ohio State men’s golf team (299-294-299=892) finished competition at the UNLV Intercollegiate today in Las Vegas, Nev. in 10th place, firing a 299 (+11). The Buckeyes were paced on the final day by two seniors, Jason Oien (Westerville, Ohio/Westerville North) and Doug Wade (Lima, Ohio/Lima Central Catholic), who fired 74 (+2) a piece.%^$
%^$No. 1 Georgia Tech (287-276-281=844) fired a final round -7, 281, which was good enough to finish first and 19 strokes in front of second place UNLV (288-284-291=863).%^$
%^$Tech’s Troy Matteson (70-69-69=208) came from first place entering today to fire a 69 (-3) in the final round to finish the tournament tied for medalist honors with Florida’s Camilo Villegas. Villegas (68-69-71=208), who held first place entering the final round, fired a 71 (-1) finished tied for first.%^$
%^$The Buckeyes will return to competition March 22-24 as they will travel to Greenville, S.C. to compete in the Furman Invitational.%^$
