Women’s Lacrosse Downs Virginia Tech, 11-5 – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s lacrosse team (7-5 overall) defeated the Virginia Tech Hokies, 11-5, Sunday on a soggy Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium field. Ohio State was led by Tracey Bounds (So. Ellicott, Md./ Mt. Hebron) who tallied four goals in the contest.
In the first half, Ohio State came out striking first on a goal by Amy Tulk (Fr., West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) to give the Buckeyes a 1-0 lead at the 23:41 mark. Just :46 later the Hokies came back with Kellyn Hentz tallying her only goal of the day to even the score at 1-1. Ohio State went into the halftime with a slim lead over the Hokies, 3-2.
After the break, the Buckeyes went on to outscore Virginia Tech 8-3. Bounds recorded her four goals in the second half with the first one coming at the 21:36 mark. Shannon Wilson (So. Crystal Beach, Ont./ Lakeshore Catholic) also paced the Buckeyes with a hat trick.
The Buckeyes return to action Friday April 20, when they play host to Vanderbilt Univeristy at 4 p.m.
