Rowing Battle Top Field at Buckeye Invite – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio–The No. 9 Ohio State women’s rowing team won three races Saturday at the Buckeye Invitational held on the Griggs Reservoir on the Scioto River in Columbus.
Ohio State won the morning race in the first varsity 8 competition with a time of 6:47.20 ahead of Michigan State (6:50.98), Clemson (7:04.34) and Kansas (7:05.48).
In the second varsity 8 race of the morning session, the Buckeyes (6:47.50) defeated Clemson (6:47.50), Michigan State (6:50.97), Kansas (6:53.15) and Michigan State (6:54.30).
Ohio State’s third victory came in the morning first varsity 4 race. The Buckeyes finished with a time of 7:40.62 followed by Michigan State (7:41.70), Clemson (8:05.42) and Kansas (8:11.88).
In the afternoon session, Ohio State (6:49.11) finished third in the first varsity 8 race behind No. 5 Michigan (6:35.80) and No. 2 Southern California (6:49.11). The Buckeyes again finished in the No. 3 spot in the second varsity 8 race with a time 6:40.69. Michigan won with a time of 6:32.49 with Southern California finishing second (6:37.74).
In its first varsity four afternoon race, Ohio State (7:35.50) was third behind Michigan (7:25.60) and Michigan State (7:32.99).
The Buckeyes are off until the Big Ten Championships April 28 in Ann Arbor, Mich.
