Men’s Golf Nabs 15th Place at Schenkel E-Z-GO Invitational – Ohio State Buckeyes

%^$ COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s golf team earned 15th place after recording a three-round total of 900 (+36) at the Schenkel E-Z-GO Invitational, hosted at the par-72 Forest Heights Country Club in Statesboro, Ga., this weekend. The Buckeyes posted a score of 297 Sunday in the competitive tournament, which featured 10 of the nation’s Top-20 teams and 15 of the Top-20 players.%^$
%^$ Top-ranked Georgia entered the final round in a tie with No. 3 Clemson but came alive in the final 18 holes to earn the tournament title by four strokes over host Georgia Southern after scoring 854 (-10) overall. Georgia’s Nick Cassini won medalist honors with a six-under 210.%^$
%^$ The Buckeyes were paced by Jason Oien (Jr., New Albany, Ohio/Westerville North), who shot a 221 (+5), tying for 35th place. David Wagenseller (Jr., Wilmington, Ohio/Wilmington) recorded the Buckeyes’ low round Sunday, a one-over 73, as he finished with a 222 to tie for 40th place.%^$
%^$ Mike Austin (Sr., Burton, Mich./Flint Powers Catholic) finished with a 230, while Ryan Dennis (Jr., Stow, Ohio/Walsh Jesuit) carded a 232, including a round of 74 Sunday. Justin Collins (So., Ironton, Ohio/Ironton) posted a 76 Sunday en route to a 3-round mark of 236.%^$
