Women’s Lacrosse Pounds Denver, 16-3 – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s lacrosse team (4-1 overall) defeated Denver University, 16-3 Friday afternoon at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. The Buckeyes improve its record to a perfect 4-1 on the season.
In the first half, OSU started out quick on two consecutive goals from Erin Andersen (Sr., Huntington, N.Y./Huntington) who ended the contest with a hat trick. OSU jumped out on top 6-2 after the first half.
Alexia Vogler (So., Ellicot City, Md.) exploded scoring four of her five goals in the second half. Vogler proved to be the nail in the coffin as OSU shut down Denver’s attack holding them to just one goal in the last half. Lauren Cochran (Jr. Coatesville, Pa.) helped the Buckeyes with two goals of her own.
In goal, Megan Barnett (Jr., Charlottesville, Va./Albemarle) shut down the Pioneers, stopping five shots and just giving up three goals.
The Buckeyes return to action at noon Sunday by hosting St. Bonaventure at the Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.
