COLUMBUS, Ohio— Jamie Natalie (Sr., Hockessin, Del.) led the Buckeyes into Norman, Okla. with the intention of knocking off the No. 1 Sooners. Natalie lived up to his role as a team leader by winning the horizontal bar competition with a score of 9.950. The nation’s second best all-arounder took first in that competition, recording 54.200 points. Natalie placed second on vault (9.2), fourth on rings (9.2) and fourth on floor (9.050) en route to winning his second Big Ten Player of the Week award in 2001. Natalie’s first Player of the Week award came after personally dismantling Michigan State Feb. 9 in St. John Arena. The co-captain was forced to share that award with Penn State’s Chris Lakeman. This award is Natalie’s alone. Natalie holds the No. 1 spot in the nation on high bar and is No. 2 on all-around. Natalie also ranks No. 7 on both floor exericise and parallel bars. The senior is the only Buckeye to win the award this season.
