Suzie Stiling Honored As Co-Big Ten Volleyball Player Of The Week – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Big Ten Conference announced Monday that Suzie Stiling (Jr., Glenview, Ill/Glenbrook South H.S.) has been named the co-Big Ten Player of the Week for her play last week against Indiana and No. 24 Illinois. Stiling had 12 kills (with no errors), hit .667, had five digs and four assist blocks in the 3-0 (30-27, 30-12, 30-14) victory at Indiana. In the 3-0 (30-26, 30-24, 30-25) win at No. 24 Illinois, Stiling collected a season-high 17 kills, hit .462, had eight digs, two service aces, one solo and three assist blocks. For the six games last week, she averaged 4.83 kills per game and hit .545. Stiling averaged 2.17 digs and 1.33 blocks per game. Her solo block moved her to 10th on the OSU career list with 43. She also moved to seventh in OSU career total blocks with 302 (43 solo, 259 assists).
For the season, Stiling is the team leader in hitting percentage at .422 and ranks third in kills per game at 3.71. She leads the team with 73 blocks (13 solo and 60 assists) and is tied for the team lead in blocks per game at .89 with Erin Baker (Sr., Elmhurst, Ill.)
This marks the fourth time this season that Ohio State has received player of the week honors. Freshman Stacey Gordon (Oshawa, Ontario) has been so honored three times this season. Stiling shares this week’s player of the week honors with Stephanie Hagen of Minnesota.
Buckeyes Host Michigan State and Michigan this week.
Ohio State (22-2 overall, 14-2 Big Ten) plays its final home stand of the regular season this weekend with Michigan State (16-7, 9-7) and Michigan (12-11, 8-8) coming to town. OSU hosts Michigan State at 7 p.m. EST, Friday, Nov. 16 in a match that will be delayed telecast by ESPN2 at 2 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 18. The Buckeyes host Michigan at 7 p.m. EST, Saturday, Nov. 17. That match will be delayed telecast by the Ohio News Network at 3 p.m. EST, Sunday, Nov. 18.
