Men’s Golf Second After First Round of Taylor Made Red River Classic – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio-The Ohio State men’s golf team shot an opening round score of 277 (-11) to take second place after the first round of the Red River Classic in Dallas, Texas.
The University of Texas, host of the 14th annual event, leads the 15-team field after an opening round 276 (-12).
Four Buckeyes shot even par or better at the Dallas Athletic Club (par 72, 6,766 yards).
Leading the way for Ohio State were senior Doug Wade (Lima, Ohio/Lima Central Catholic) and junior Justin Collins (Ironton, Ohio/Ironton). Each shot a 4-under 68. Senior Jason Oien (Westerville, Ohio/Westerville North) turned in a 3-under 69 while senior Ryan Dennis (Stow, Ohio/Walsh Jesuit) shot an even-par 72.
Jason Hartwick of Texas fired a 7-under 65 to lead the way after round one.
The teams will play an additional 18 holes Monday before completing the 54-hole event Tuesday.
