Men’s Tennis Trio Heads South to Tennessee Fall Rank Classic – Ohio State Buckeyes

%^$COLUMBUS, Ohio- Three members of the Ohio State men’s tennis team have been selected to compete in the University of Tennessee Fall Rank Classic Oct. 19-21 at the Goodfriend Indoor Tennis Center in Knoxville, Tenn. Phillip Metz (Jr., Mentor, Ohio/Mentor), Jeremy Wurtzman (So., Rochester, N.Y./Brickhouse Academy) and Adrian Bohane (So., West Palm Beach, Fla./Palm Beach Lakes) will participate in the tournament for singles players ranked in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings. All players are guaranteed five matches.%^$
%^$”I look for these three guys to do better than last week,” Ty Tucker, OSU head coach, said. “Phil had a tough week in his first tournament action in two months but he will rebound. We still believe he is a Top 10 player in the country. Jeremy did a great job last week and I think he can do well this week. All three guys have a great chance to do well at Tennessee.”%^$
%^$Metz is ranked No. 12 in the nation and Wurtzman is No. 35. Bohane is not ranked but made the tournament field as one of four wildcard selections. All three players enter the event after a tough ITA All-American Championships (Oct. 5-14). Metz went 0-2 in the tournament, falling in both the first round of the main draw and the first round of the consolations. Bohane lost his opener in the qualification round. Wurtzman, after falling in the opening round of the main draw, won two matches in the consolation round before falling in the quarterfinals.%^$
%^$The trio will join the rest of the Buckeyes in East Lansing, Mich., Oct. 26-29 for the ITA Region IV Championships.
