Men’s Golf Opens the Season With a 13th Place Finish – Ohio State Buckeyes

Toledo, OH – The Ohio State University men’s golf team shot a final round score of 303 for a 54 hole total of 924. The Buckeyes finish the first-annual Inverness Intercollegiate Invitational in 13th place.
South Carolina took team honors with a score of 876. Nick Watney of Fresno State and Scott Hayes of Michigan tied for individual medalist, shooting a three under par score of 213.
The Buckeyes low 54-hole total was carded by Jr. Jason Oien, who scored an eight over par 224 and finished the tournament in a tied for 13th.
The Buckeyes will next take to the links when they travel to Champaign, Illinois to compete in the Northern Intercollegiate. First round action is set to get underway Saturday, September 30.
