Women’s Lacrosse Crushes Duquesne – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Lauren Cochran ( So., Coatesville, Pa.) and Megan Mirick (So., Burke, Va.) both scored four goals to lead the Buckeyes to a 19-3 victory over the Duquesne Dukes Friday at the Jesse Owens Stadium. Ohio State moves to 3-1 on the season, while Duquesne falls to 1-1.%^$
%^$The Dukes scored the first goal, 30 seconds into the contest. The Buckeyes retaliated quickly with a Cochran goal at 21:58. Ohio State continued strong never letting up in the first half, taking a 9-2 lead into the break.%^$
%^$Mirick got the second period off quickly, scoring 2:30 in on a goal assisted by Tracey Bounds (Fr., Ellicott City, Md.). Ohio State scored 10 goals in the second half. The Dukes scored one.%^$
%^$The balanced offense saw seven Buckeyes score.%^$
%^$Buckeye goalie Megan Barnett (So., Charlottesville, Va.) played all 60 minutes and recorded three saves. Duquesne goalie Becky Stauffer played all 60 minutes, recording two saves.%^$
%^$The Buckeyes return to action Sunday, March 19 when they take on Boston in Philadelphia, Penn. The game begins at 1 p.m. Ohio State returns home Thursday, March 23, hosting Notre Dame in a 4 p.m. game. The game will be played at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.%^$
