Women’s Lacrosse Tops Bucknell – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio. — Erin Andersen (Jr., Huntington, N.Y.) scored four goals, and Megan Mirick (So., Burke, Va.) finished with two goals and two assists to lead the Buckeyes to a 17-0 victory over Bucknell, Sunday, at the Woody Hayes Athletic Complex. Ohio State moves to 2-1 on the season, while Bucknell falls to 0-1.%^$
%^$Ohio State started quickly, scoring just 44 seconds into the contest off a Trish Derwart (So., Ellicott City, Md.) goal. The Buckeyes never let up in the first half, taking an 11-0 lead into the break.%^$
%^$Andersen got the second period off quickly, scoring 45 seconds in on an unassisted goal. Ohio State scored six goals in the second half.%^$
%^$The Buckeyes recorded the first shutout in the five-year history of the program. The balanced offense saw 11 Buckeyes score.%^$
%^$Buckeye goalie Megan Barnett (So., Charlottesville, Va.) played all 60 minutes and recorded six saves. Bucknell split time between two goalies. Annie Richards played 24 minutes and finished with three saves, while Nicole Kallis played 36 minutes and recorded eight saves.%^$
%^$The Buckeyes return to action Friday, March 17, hosting Duquesne in a 4 p.m. game. The game will be played at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.%^$
