Women’s Volleyball 17th in Coaches Preseason Poll – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s volleyball squad opens the 1999 season ranked 17th in the USA TODAY/AVCA Coaches Preseason Poll released Thursday. The Buckeyes, ranked 24th at the end of the 1998 season, return all six starters from last season and 10 of 11 letterwinners. Big Ten opponent Penn State is ranked No. 1 while five other conference opponents received votes. Wisconsin is ninth, Illinois 14th, Michigan State 22nd, Minnesota 30th and Indiana 31st.
Ohio State opens the 1999 season Sept. 1 at Dayton.
