Women’s Lacrosse Players Earn Post-Season Honors – Ohio State Buckeyes

Columbus, Ohio – For the first time in the history of the Ohio State women’s lacrosse program, post-season honors were earned by two players.
Miranda James (Jr., Charlotte, N.C.) was named a Mid-Atlantic Regional 2nd Team All-American for defense. James becomes the first All-American in the history of the Ohio State program. She finished the season with three goals and three assists to lead all Buckeye defenders.
Laurie Rybak (Sr., Worthington, Ohio) became the first player in the history of OSU women’s lacrosse to be selected to try-out for the U.S. National Team. Even though she did not make the National Team she was selected to play for the North in the North/South Senior All-Star Game. Rybak was one of the co-captains for the 1999 season and was fourth on the team in total points with 36. She also led the team in ground balls with 65.
Under the direction of fourth-year head coach Sue Stimmel the Buckeyes finished the 1999 season with their best record, 10-5.
