Women’s Lacrosse Rolls Past UCONN – Ohio State Buckeyes

Columbus, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s lacrosse defeated the UCONN Huskies 20-6 at Notre Dame, IN, on Saturday afternoon. This win brings Ohio State’s record to 5-3 while the Huskies fell to 1-3.
Two players led Ohio State with four goals; Megan Mirick and Erin Andersen. Celeste Cianfrani and Laurie Rybak also contributed to the offense by netting three goals. Mara Simpson, Kylee Reade and Lauren Cochran finished the attack by adding two goals apiece. Half of Ohio State’s goals were assisted.
The Buckeyes started strong, scoring just 12 seconds into the game. Ohio State never trailed in the game, taking an early 8-0 lead. OSU led 11-3 at the half and outscored the Huskies 9-3 in the second for the victory.
The Buckeyes return home for their next game. They will take on Virginia Tech April 3 at 1 p.m.
