Womens Lacrosse Prevails Over Davidson in Overtime – Ohio State Buckeyes

Columbus, Ohio – The Ohio State womens lacrosse team was victorious Saturday afternoon, beating the Davidson Cats in overtime, 10-9. The Buckeyes now have an overall record of 2-2.
Davidson got the game off to a quick start on a Beth Calder goal just 45 seconds into the game. The Buckeyes quickly responded by scoring the next five goals. Ohio State led 6-4 at halftime. Davidson came out strong in the second half, outscoring the Buckeyes 5-3 to send the game into overtime. The Buckeyes took the lead for good with 1:04 left in the first overtime when Megan Mirick (Fr., Burke, VA) took a beautiful pass from Celeste Cianfrani (So., Telford, Penn.)
Cianfrani and Mirick each scored three goals to lead the Buckeyes. Lauren Cochran (Fr., Coatesville, Penn) added two goals, while Mara Simpson (Sr., Worthington, Ohio) and Laurie Rybak (Sr., Worthington, Ohio) each netted one goal.
The Buckeyes travel to Boston next weekend to take on Mt. St. Marys and Boston University on March 20 and 21, respectively.
