Women’s lacrosse drops 10-7 decision to George Mason – Ohio State Buckeyes

FAIRFAX, Va. – The Ohio State women’s lacrosse team lost to George Mason 10-7 to bring their overall record to 6-8.
%^$The Patriots captured the early lead when Liz Paoli scored at 29:38. Ohio State battled back scoring four goals in the first half, but it wasn’t enough to slow down George Mason who scored eight goals in the first half.
%^$In the second half the Buckeyes scored three unanswered goals, two by Celeste Cianfrani (Fr., Telford, Pa.) and one by Mara Simpson (Sr., Worthington, Ohio) to pull within three 10-7, with 7:14 left in the game. The Patriots took a time out and held the Buckeyes scoreless for the last 7:14 seconds to seal the win. The Buckeyes were lead by Cianfrani who had three goals and Simpson who scored two. Lorena Opitz (Sr. Worthington, Ohio) and Laurie Rybak (Sr., Worthington, Ohio) each tallied a goal.
