%^$COLUMBUS, Ohio – Despite poor playing conditions, the Ohio State men’s golf team carried Saturdays momentum into today’s final round at the 29th annual Kepler Intercollegiate at the Scarlet Course as the Buckeyes came away the big winners. The Buckeyes captured their 21st team title in the history of the Kepler Intercollegiate.
%^$Constant drizzling rain and chilly winds took its toll on todays scores, but the Buckeyes managed to fight off the weather as three members of the team finished amongst the top ten. Craig Matthew (Sr., Pointe Claire, Ontario) came one stroke short of tying the individual medalist, Tee McCabe of Miami (O.). Matthew led by three strokes going into the final round, but missed a birdie putt by inches on the 18th green that would have put him in a tie for first place.
%^$Ryan Armour (Sr., Silver Lake, Ohio) finished with an even par in fourth place, while freshman Mike Austin (Fr., Burton, Mich.) came in with a three over par-219, good enough to put him in a tie for eighth place.%^$
