Women’s Lacrosse Beaten by Penn State – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio State women’s lacrosse team lost to Penn State 14-3, in the Buckeyes last home game of the season.
The Lions obtained an early advantage right from the start when Coleen O’Brien scored at 28:42. The Bucks stayed with Penn State when Gillan Grim (Sr., Shaker Heights, Ohio) scored her only goal at 25:41 to put Ohio State down 2-1. The next Buckeye goal didn’t come until the 10:41 mark when Bice Garcia (So., Columbus, Ohio) smoked one past goalie Megan Ames. The only other Ohio State player to score was Laurie Rybak (Sr., Worthington, Ohio). Penn State scored a goal with :10 seconds left in the half to take the wind out of Ohio State’s sail and make the half time score 6-3. In the second half the Nittany Lions were unstoppable as they scored eight goals. Penn State was led by Jenn Webb who scored a hat-trick and Jen Johnson who netted two goals and 4 assists.
Ohio State takes its final road trip of the season to battle George Mason on Saturday, April 25 and American on Sunday, April 26.
