Columbus, Ohio– The Ohio State women’s lacrosse team downed the Duquesne Dukes 14-2 to bring their overall record to 4-3.
It was like “Deja Vu” as the Buckeyes destroyed the Duquesne Dukes for the second year in a row. Last year Ohio State beat the Dukes 18-2. This year was much of the same with OSU winning by the big margin The Buckeyes were all over Dukes keeping the ball on their side of the field most of the half. Once the Buckeyes started to score the Dukes could not find an answer. Laurie Rybak (Jr., Worthington, Ohio) led the Buckeyes with four goals, two of which came in the first game. Gillian Grim (So., Shaker Heights, Ohio), Lorena Opitz (Sr., Worthington, Ohio) and Mara Simpson (Sr., Worthington, Ohio) each scored two goals apiece to close the door on Duquesne’s hopes.
Ohio State is back home Saturday, April 4 at 1 p.m. against Notre Dame and Sunday, April 5 at 2 p.m. against Vanderbilt.
