Women’s Lacrosse Downs Lady Knights in Home Opener – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s lacrosse team opened it’s 1998 season with a 10-4 win over Gannnon at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center, bringing their overall record to 1-0. The Buckeyes trailed early in the first half after Gannon’s Stacey Reynolds scored the first goal of the game after that the Buckeyes then took to the offense scoring four unanswered goals. Ohio State was lead by Lorena Opitz (Sr., Worhtington, Ohio) and Mara Simpson (Sr., Worthington, Ohio) who both scored two goals. Miranda James (So., Bel Air, Md.) also added two goals. Former Gannon player Bice Garcia (So., Columbus, Ohio) scored a goal in her Ohio State debut. The Buckeyes travel to Notre Dame, Ind. to battle the Colgate Red Raiders on March 15.
