Men’s Gymnastics Finishes Third at Big Ten Championships – Ohio State Buckeyes

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The University of Iowa won the Big Ten men’s gymnastics championship Friday night with a team score of 230.535, which knocked off the two-time defending Big Ten Champions Ohio State Buckeyes who placed third with a score of 229.600 behind Penn State and Iowa.
The Hawkeyes won their first Big Ten Championship since 1986. They were lead by Todd Strada who placed third in the all-around competition with a score of 57.65. Penn State’s Mike Dutka won the all-around championship with a score of 58.350. Travis Romagnoli from the University of Illinois placed second scoring 58.275.
The Big Ten Championships continue tomorrow night. The individual event champions will be determined on all six events. The competition starts at 7 p.m.
