Men’s Golf Travel to Hilton Head – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS-The men’s golf team will travel to Hilton Head, S.C. to compete in the Golf World/Palmetto Dunes Collegiate this weekend. The tournament, held Nov. 6-8, will be the last for the Buckeyes until the spring season begins in February. %^$

The Buckeyes will again feature a new face as coach Jim Brown looks for a solid five-man squad for the spring season. Sophomore Danny Janson (Grand Rapids, Mich.) will see his first action of the season, the eighth golfer to play in Ohio State’s three fall tournaments. %^$
Janson will be joined by senior Al Hromulak (Johnstown, Pa.) who has paced the Buckeyes this season with a 74.3 stroke-average. Also competing for Ohio State will be Mike Austin (So., Burton, Mich.), Chris Emanuel (So., Ottumwa, Iowa), and David Wagenseller (Fr., Wilmington Ohio).
A talented group of individual players will compete in the tournament including defending champion Jeremy Anderson of UNLV, Georgia Tech’s Matt Kuchar, the 1997 U.S. Amateur champion, and 1998 U.S. Amateur champion Hank Kuehne of Southern Methodist University. Kuehne holds the course record at the Arthur Hills Course in Palmetto Dunes with a 63. %^$
The field also includes all of the top 10 teams in the country including top-ranked UNLV and defending Collegiate champion Texas Christian. %^$
The tournament begins Friday, Nov. 6 at 8 a.m. at the Arthur Hills Course and concludes Sunday, Nov. 8. %^$
