COLUMBUS, Ohio – The women’s crew team finished fourth in the women’s open 8 race at the Princeton 3-Mile Chase Sunday. The Buckeyes had a time of 14:44.85, behind champion Princeton’s 14:39.58. The race, held at Lake Carnegie in Princeton, N.J., featured 43 collegiate boats from across the country. The OSU reserve squad finished 13th, third among “B” boats in the race. Coach Andy Teitelbaum was pleased with his team’s showing.
“Virginia, Michigan and Princeton are three of the best teams in the nation. To be within four seconds of that group is very exciting,” he said.
The Buckeyes ran three boats in the women’s open 4 event, which had 38 contestants. The A squad finished 19th at 17:47.15, the C team was 23rd with a 17:52.92, and the B squad finished 29th at 18:17.14. The race was won by Virginia’s A team at 16:35.14.
