
Kingsley and McNally Selected for NCAA Singles Championship

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State sophomore Cannon Kingsley and senior John McNally have been selected to compete in this year’s NCAA Singles Championship, which will be contested on May 23-28 at the USTA National Campus in Orlando.
Kingsley, last year’s national Freshman of the Year and singles All-American, has had a remarkable sophomore campaign. He is 27-0 this season in the No. 1 and No. 2 spots in the lineup. He was the unanimous Big Ten men’s tennis Athlete of the Year and is a two-time first team All-Big Ten honoree. Kingsley is 46-3 in his singles career.
McNally was both a singles and doubles All-American last season, and this year, he was named first team All-Big Ten for the fourth consecutive year. He has a singles mark this season of 21-4 and is also 17-5 in doubles. He has six wins over ranked singles opponents this year, including a gutty, three-set win over Illinois’ Alex Kovacevic in the championship match of the Big Ten Tournament last Sunday.
The singles championship will be played followed the team championship which will be contested the previous week in Orlando. The Buckeyes received an at-large bid will be in Winston-Salem, N.C. this weekend for an opening round match vs. VCU.
