Buckeyes Unveil 2023 Schedule

COLUMBUS, Ohio Ohio State’s 2023 schedule was released today, and it includes four early-season trips south and 15 regular season home games, beginning on March 21 vs. Kent State. In all, Ohio State has 52 regular season games scheduled.

The season begins the weekend of Feb. 10-12 in Orlando, Fla. at the UCF Invitational. There, the Buckeyes will face Georgia, UCF, Boise State and UMass. Last year, UCF made it first-ever NCAA Super Regional and Georgia was one of 12 teams from the Southeastern Conference to earn an at-large berth in the NCAA Tournament.

From there, the Buckeyes head to Clemson, S.C. for the Big Ten/ACC Challenge. Ohio State meets Notre Dame twice (Feb. 17 and 18) and Clemson twice (Feb. 18 and 19). Both Notre Dame and Clemson were NCAA Tournament teams last year with the Tigers advancing to the Super Regionals.

The weekend of Feb. 24-26 takes Ohio State to the annual Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic in Palm Springs, which is one of the premier events on the college softball calendar every year. The Buckeyes are slated to face Cal State-Northridge (Feb. 24), Oregon State (Feb. 25), San Diego State (Feb. 25) and Utah (Feb. 26).

After an off weekend, Ohio State’s annual spring break trip will be in South Carolina and start March 10-12 at Coastal Carolina. The Buckeyes will play Houston Christian twice, Canisius twice and the host Chanticleers once.

Two midweek trips are also scheduled during spring break: a doubleheader at Charleston Southern on March 15 and a single game at the College of Charleston on March 15. The trip concludes March 17-19 with games at East Carolina vs. Cleveland State (March 17), East Carolina (March 17 and 18) and Presbyterian (March 18).

Ohio State’s home schedule begins on March 21 vs. Kent State and then continues the weekend of March 24-26 against Michigan. In all, the Buckeyes have four Big Ten series’ scheduled at home: vs. Michigan (March 24-26), Rutgers (April 7-9), Purdue (April 21-23) and Minnesota (April 28-30). Midweek non-conference games in Columbus are slated for March 21 vs. Dayton, April 4 vs. Ohio and April 18 vs. Youngstown State.

The Buckeyes’ road Big Ten series’ are at Indiana (March 31-April 2), Penn State (doubleheader April 11), Illinois (April 14-16) and Nebraska (May 5-7). The Big Ten Tournament this year will be in Champaign, Ill. May 10-13.

Free admission and parking
Admission to Ohio State home games at Buckeye Field is free, as is parking. The Buckeyes have averaged nearly 1,000 fans per game over the past five full seasons (2021 excluded) with crowds routinely at capacity for weekend Big Ten series.
