COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s gymnastics team hit the mats at the Covelli Center for the first time in history, marking it as the new home of the Buckeyes. The Buckeyes placed second in all six events on their way to a second-place finish. Oklahoma won the meet with a 412.200 followed by Ohio State at 397.600 and Arizona State at 380.700.
Rihard Trams claimed one of the top spots in pommel horse, tied with Oklahoma’s David Sandro with a score of 13.500. Trevor Cummings fell shortly behind, placing third on pommel horse with a score of 13.450. Justin Ah Chow took the second place spot parallel bars with a score of 13.900 with Jesse Tyndall placing fourth with a score of 13.750. On rings, Angel Leon came in fourth with a score of 13.400. Buckeyes Kazuki Hayashi (14.300) and Jesse Tyndall (14.200) took the fourth and fifth spots on floor.

The Buckeyes look to continue their progress as they hit the road for the first time this season to take on Penn State. The action is set to get underway at 8 p.m. next Saturday, Jan. 25.
