COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s golf team travels to Palos Verdes Estates, Calif. this weekend to compete in the 2020 Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge. The Buckeyes are hosting the tournament for the 25th time with competition taking place Feb. 9-11 at the Palos Verdes Golf Club. Tournament play will kick off on Sunday and wrap up Tuesday with 18 holes taking place each day on a par-71 course. Tee times will begin at 9 a.m. PT on Sunday and Monday, while Tuesday begins with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. PT. Ohio State will be the only team representing the Big Ten Conference in the 16-team field that includes Stanford, the 2019 tournament champion.

The Weather Channel is forecasting temperatures in the high-50s throughout the event with partly cloudy skies on the first two days of play and sunny skies to conclude the tournament on Tuesday.
OVER THE BREAK
Ohio State inked two signees in November who are set to join the Buckeyes for the 2020-21 season. Hailing from Tamarac, Fla., Jillian Bourdage is the 2019 Florida State Golf Association Girls Junior champion and Player of the Year. Emily Hummer, a native of Upper Arlington, Ohio, is a two-time first team All-Ohio selection who earned runner-up titles in the individual and team competitions as a senior at the OHSAA State Tournament.
Sophomore Aneka Seamanutafa played in the practice session leading up to the 2020 Curtis Cup to be held June 12-14. She was one of only 12 golfers to be invited to the event in Hobe Sound, Fla., Dec. 15-17. The Curtis Cup Match is contested by two teams of eight female amateur players, one from the United States and one from Great Britain. The USA Team will be selected by the USGA’s International Team Selection Committee.

The Ohio State golf team placed 10th at the 2019 Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge. Aneka Seumanutafa, Yukie Sasaki, Lauren Peter, Adeena Shears and Sofia Seldemirova, the Buckeyes top five scorers in last year’s event, are all returners on this year’s squad.
