- Two of three members of the starting attack from 2021 return intact. Jackson Reid and Jack Myers form one of the most productive units in the Big Ten and country this fall.
- Myers, a fourth-year senior with two years of eligibility remaining and Reid, a fifth-year senior, have combined to score 230 career points (147 goals, 83 assists).
- The midfield is bolstered by the return of fifth-year senior Griffin Hughes, who has increased his point production every year since 2018.
- Junior Jacob Snyder, who has started every game in his 18-game career, anchors the close defense. Earlier this fall, he was named to the United States team for the U21 World Championships this summer in Ireland.
- The Buckeyes will have a new starting goalie in 2022. Skylar Wahlund is the lone returnee and is joined on the roster by North Carolina transfer Caton Johnson and freshman Henry Blake.
