Women’s Basketball Enjoys Expanded Media Coverage For The 2000-01 Campaign – Ohio State Buckeyes

%^$COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s basketball program will enjoy more live media coverage than ever before with the start of its 2000-01 campaign. WBNS Radio, The Ohio News Network (ONN) and Fox Sports Chicago will all help deliver the excitement of Buckeye Basketball to homes throughout the state and the Midwest. The television package in particular, will showcase more than half (10-of-16) of Ohio State’s Big Ten contests.%^$
%^$For the eighth-consecutive year, WBNS Radio, 1460 (AM) The Fan, will provide live coverage of Buckeye action over 57 affiliates both at home and away. Herb Howenstine, the voice of the Buckeyes, will again pair up with color analysts and former Buckeyes Kristin Watt (1983-85) and Toni Roesch (1983-86) to form one of the most experienced broadcast teams in women’s college basketball.%^$
%^$Three Ohio State matchups are included on the Big Ten/Fox Sports Chicago television schedule. Value City Arena will host a New Year’s Eve matchup between Penn State and Ohio State at 1 p.m. The network will also follow the Buckeyes on the road at Michigan State (Jan. 4) and at Indiana (Jan. 28).%^$
%^$ONN, Ohio’s statewide, 24-hour cable news channel, will televise seven games. ONN will carry home contests vs. Illinois (Jan. 11), Iowa (Jan. 17), Michigan (Jan. 21), Minnesota (Feb. 8), Purdue (Feb. 11) and Northwestern (Feb. 21). Ohio State at Michigan (Jan. 14) will also be featured.%^$
