Summer 2022 Student-Athlete Graduates

COLUMBUS, Ohio Sunday, 29 current and former Ohio State student-athletes received degrees from the University. Commencement was held at 2 p.m. in the Schottenstein Center. In all, 29 earned degrees, including one – basketball player Jeremie Simmons – through the degree completion program.

Included among the graduates are many who have excelled both on and off the playing field during their time with the Buckeyes, highlighted by:

  • Lexi Templeman and Emily Curlett helped the Ohio State women’s hockey team to the program’s first national championship in a record-setting season for the Buckeyes.
  • Isabelle Boulais, who is earning her degree in psychology, is a two-time First Team All-Big Ten selection and the 2019 Big Ten Freshman of the Year. She is a two-time NCAA singles qualifier and was selected for the 2021 NCAA doubles championship, one of just six Buckeyes to compete in both events. Boulais, who has been ranked as high as No. 19 in singles and No. 12 in doubles, is a two-time Academic All-Big Ten selection.
  • Laila Huric and Rachel Jager were members of the Ohio State synchronized swimming team’s 33rd national championship won here at the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion this year. They combined for seven national championship routines and four team championships in their Buckeye careers.
  • Kylie Murr of the women’s volleyball team was a member of the 2022 Women’s Collegiate National Team. She owns the single-season program records in digs (559) and digs per set (4.90) and currently ranks fourth in program history with 1,405 career digs after only three seasons. Murr was the AVCA Northeast Region Freshman of the Year and All-Big Ten Freshman Team in 2019 and has since been twice named All-Big Ten Second Team, Academic All-Big Ten and OSU Scholar Athlete. This past season she earned an honorable mention for the AVCA’s All-Region Team.
  • Lexie Handley of the softball team set the program’s single-season record for strikeouts with 271 in 225.0 innings pitched. A first team All-Region selection, Handley went 22-11 for the Buckeyes last spring and helped Ohio State reach the NCAA Tournament for the fifth time in the last six seasons. She was an NFCA All-American Scholar Athlete and is earning her master’s degree in sports coaching.
