Ally Kennedy joined the Ohio State women’s lacrosse program as an assistant coach in Summer 2024 with then-new head coach Amanda Moore. Kennedy, who brought a wealth of playing experience at all levels to the Scarlet and Gray, coaches the Buckeye offense.
After an outstanding collegiate playing career at Stony Brook, Kennedy spent time coaching at her alma mater and at Virginia. She won gold with the Team USA squad at the 2022 World Championships and is part of Athletes Unlimited.
Kennedy, a 2021 Tewaaraton Award nominee and Honda Award finalist in 2021, was a four-time All-American and the 2021 IWLCA Midfield of the Year with the Stony Brook Seawolves. The squad reached the NCAA quarterfinals each of her five seasons. She ended her career third all-time in goals (266), fourth in points (329), ninth in assists (63), second in both ground balls (180) and caused turnovers (343) and 10th in single-season caused turnovers (59).
Following her collegiate career, Kennedy was the second overall pick in the inaugural Athletes Unlimited college draft. She finished her first professional season 16th overall in points scored (1,302) and was tied for eighth in goals with 22. In the 2022 campaign she had 740 leaderboard points and was fifth in the league with nine assists, ranking second with 43 draw controls. In the 2023 season Kennedy had 910 leaderboard points, compiling 105 MVP points to tie for fifth place in the league rankings. She started all 12 games and had 15 goals and three assists, with 22 ground balls, 31 draw controls and eight caused turnovers. She represented Team USA at the 2022 World Lacrosse Women’s World Championship, with the team winning the gold medal. Kennedy played in all eight games and had 11 goals and assist, with a hat trick in each of the first five games.
A native of North Babylon, N.Y., Kennedy received her bachelor's degree in business management from Stony Brook in 2021.
