Murray is in his sixth season with the Buckeyes in 2024-25 and first as an assistant coach after spending five seasons as the video coordinator and director of scouting.
In his first five seasons as a full-time member of the Buckeye staff, Murray helped lead Ohio State to a pair of Big Ten regular season championships (2022, 2024) with the 2024 title being the program's first outright regular season crown since the 2009-10 season. The Buckeyes have made three-consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances (2022, 2023, 2024) and have been selected as a top-16 seed in back-to-back seasons. Ohio State reached the Sweet 16 in 2022 and the Elite Eight in 2023 - the program's first Elite Eight appearance in 30 years. The Buckeyes strung together the best start in program history, winning their first 19 games during the 2022-23 season.
He began his second tenure at Ohio State in July 2019, returning to the Ohio State women's basketball program after spending the 2018-19 season as the video coordinator and director of scouting for the women’s basketball program at Wisconsin. In his first stint with the Buckeyes, Murray served as a practice player and student manager. He graduated from the Fisher College of Business with an accounting specialization in 2018.
