Buckeye Youth Spirit Club
We are excited to announce the launch of our inaugural season of the Buckeye Youth Spirit Club!
The Buckeye Youth Spirit Club is designed to give its members the opportunity to perform at four major sporting events at The Ohio State University, develop relationships with Ohio State Cheerleaders & Dance Team Members and have exclusive exposure to Brutus Buckeye!
The Buckeye Youth Spirit Club is open to all children currently in Grades 1-6 for the 2023-2024 academic year. The club operates on a membership-based system. Participants first register and join the Buckeye Youth Spirit Club to become an official member!
Membership for the Buckeye Youth Spirit Club includes:
- Buckeye Youth Spirit Club T-Shirt for Performances
- 1 Pair of Poms for Performances
- Opportunity for Exclusive Photograph with Brutus Buckeye
- Brutus Buckeye Trading Card
- Priority to Register for All Youth Spirit Performances
- Invitation to Buckeye Youth Spirit Club Kickoff Event
Official members of The Buckeye Youth Spirit Club will have the opportunity to participate in a one-hour clinic pre-game and perform at various athletic events throughout the year. Participation in each athletic event will require an additional registration! For the 2023-2024 year, performances are planned at:
- Women’s Volleyball (Fall)
- Women’s Basketball (Winter)
- Men’s Basketball (Winter)
- Football (Spring Game)
Exact dates and times for each event will be released on an ongoing basis, closer to each individual event. Members do not need to participate in all events, but they do have priority to register for each athletic event that works for their schedule. Registration for each athletic event performance will include clinic instruction, opportunity to learn from The Ohio State Cheer & Dance Teams, and three tickets to the event (one for the performer and two guests).

What if I cannot attend the Buckeye Youth Spirit Club Kickoff Event?
No problem at all! Members who cannot participate in the club kickoff will be able to pick up their t-shirt, poms and trading card at the first athletic event they register for! The photograph with Brutus may only be offered during the kickoff event.
I would like to participate in one of the athletic game performances, what do I do?
Step one is to become a member of The Buckeye Youth Spirit Club. Membership in the club allows exclusive first access to register for individual athletic events. Individual athletic event dates, times and registration information will be released on an ongoing basis closer to the date of each specific athletic event.
If I become a member of The Buckeye Youth Spirit Club, do I have to attend all four athletic event performances?
No! Registration for each individual performance will be a separate fee and registration process. It is not mandatory for all Buckeye Youth Spirit Club members to attend all events.
Is there maximum capacity for the Buckeye Youth Spirit Club and associated athletic events?
Yes! We do have capacity limitations for both the Buckeye Youth Spirit Club and each of the performances. We recommend keeping an eye out for your priority registration link in order to register as quickly as possible!
Am I guaranteed to be able to register for all events?
While the Buckeye Spirit Youth Club Membership does NOT guarantee enrollment in each individual athletic performance, we do anticipate being able to satisfy demand for members to be able to participate in the events they would like! Each athletic facility does have differences in capacity so the number of available spots will vary accordingly.
What happens at each athletic event performance?
Members will take part in an exclusive pre-game clinic where they will learn performance material and interact with the Cheer & Dance teams. The material being taught will be performed during the athletic event!
Am I able to participate in any of the performances if I was not able to sign up for The Buckeye Youth Spirit Club?
Non-members will not have access to participate in the majority of athletic events. Pending demand there may be additional openings, but it is not guaranteed.
