COLUMBUS, Ohio – Redshirt freshman Chase Singletary was selected to receive an at-large bid to the 2019 NCAA Wrestling Championships on Tuesday (March 12). With Singletary’s ticket punched, Ohio State will send a wrestler to the national tournament in all 10 weight classes. The Buckeyes are the only team to qualify in all 10 weights this season, one year after joining Lehigh University as the only two schools to qualify 10 for the 2018 NCAA Championships.
Singletary carries a 19-7 record with four wins over top-20 opponents (two against top-10). Entering the Big Ten Championships, he was ranked sixth and 10th in the RPI and Coaches Panel rankings, respectively.
The following Buckeyes earned automatic berths based on their performance at this past weekend’s Big Ten Championships: Malik Heinselman (125 lbs), Luke Pletcher (133), Joey McKenna (141), Micah Jordan (149), Ke-Shawn Hayes (157), Te’Shan Campbell (165), Ethan Smith (174), Myles Martin (184) and Kollin Moore (197).
