Buckeyes turn attention to Big Ten, NCAA championships
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- No. 2 Ohio State (18-1, 7-1) completed the 2025-26 dual season with a 29-16 win at Maryland (4-9, 0-8) Sunday at the Schanwald Pavilion in College Park.

The Buckeyes won six matches against the Terrapins, all by bonus points.

Ohio State now begin preparations for the 2026 Big Ten Championships March 7-8 at the Bryce Jordan Center in State College, Pennsylvania.
125 - (2) Nic Bouzakis (OSU) def. Abram Cline (UMD), TF, 15-0
Bouzakis opened with a takedown and two four-point nearfalls for an 11-0 advantage after the opening three minutes. Bouzakis added an escape to open the second and added a takedown for a 15-0 win by technical fall. Â
133 - (2) Ben Davino (OSU) def. (13) Braxton Brown (UMD), MD, 11-2
Davino opened with a takedown followed by a Brown escape for a 3-1 advantage. Another Davino takedown made it 6-1 Buckeyes after three minutes. Davino opened the second period with an escape and led 7-1 going to the third. Brown opened with an escape but that's where the scoring ended for the Terrapin in an 11-2 win by major decision for Davino.
141 - (1) Jesse Mendez (OSU) def. Dario Lemus (UMD), F, 4:04
Mendez scored two takedowns in the first 25 seconds of the match. Lemus countered with a pair of escapes and a takedown to make it 6-5 Mendez. Another two takedowns for Mendez made it 13-6 Buckeyes. A fifth takedown for Mendez upped the lead to 16-7 after the first period. An escape and takedown by Mendez made it 20-7 before Mendez got the pin at 4:04.
149 – (4) Carter Young (UMD) def. Brogan Fielding (OSU), MD, 14-3
Young struck first with a takedown followed by a Fielding escape to make it 3-1. Another takedown for the Terrapin increased the lead to 6-1. Fielding added an escape to go to the second period trailing 6-2. Starting from bottom, Fielding escaped again before a Young takedown made it 9-3. Young opened the third with an escape and then a takedown for a 13-3 lead. With a point for riding time, Young got the win 14-3.
157 - Mekhi Neal (UMD) def. Daxton Chase (OSU), D, 4-1
There was no score after the opening three minutes. Neal opened the second with an escape point as did Chase in the third. Neal then got a takedown in the final minute for a 4-1 win by decision.

Gallagher opened the second half of the match with takedown for a 3-0 lead after the opening period. Rodriques started the second with an escape point before a Gallagher takedown made it 6-1 Buckeyes. Another Rodrigues escape and Gallagher takedown increased the lead to 9-3 Ohio State. Gallagher added a takedown to lead 12-4 going to the third. Gallagher opened the third with a reversal for a 10-point lead (14-4). Gallagher finished off the bout for 23-7 win by technical fall.
174 – Seth Digby (UMD) def. T.J. Schierl (OSU), SV, 4-1Â
There was no scoring in the first three minutes. Schierl started with an escape in the second for the only scoring before the final period. Digby tied it at 1-all with an escape to send the bout to sudden victory. Digby then got the win with a takedown, 4-1.
184 - (8) Dylan Fishback (OSU) def. Sepantra Ahanj-Elias (UMD), 17-4
Fishback started with a pair of takedowns and built more than two minutes of riding time on his way to a 6-1 lead after the opening period. Another takedown after an Ahanj-Elias escape made it 9-3 Buckeyes. Fishback led 12-3 after five minutes and added an escape for a 13-3 lead early in the third. With another takedown and a point for riding time, Fishback got the win by major decision. 17-4. Â

Geog score first with an escape before a second-period John takedown and pin earned the win for the Terp.

Two quick takedowns propelled Feldman to a 6-1 lead in less than 30 seconds. Feldman added two more takedowns for a 12-3 advantage with more than a minute to go in the opener. Feldman added a four-point nearfall to make it 16-3 after three minutes. A quick takedown in the second earned the 19-3 win by technical fall to close out the dual season for the Buckeyes.
