
Sheldon Named to Big Ten’s Weekly Honor Roll

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Big Ten Conference released its weekly women’s basketball awards on Monday. Junior guard Jacy Sheldon was named to the weekly honor roll following her performances against Bellarmine and Cincinnati.
Sheldon averaged 24.0 points per game as the Buckeyes earned blow-out wins against Cincinnati and Bellarmine to improve to 5-0. Sheldon also averaged 4.0 assists and 4.0 rebounds per game while shooting 65 percent from the floor, 57 percent from three-point range and going 10-of-11 from the free throw line.
Sheldon scored a career-high 31 points against Bellarmine on Tuesday as she finished the game 12-of-15 (.800) from the floor, 3-of-5 (.600) from behind the arc and was a perfect 4-of-4 from the charity stripe. She also totaled three steals, three rebounds and two assists against the Knights in just 22 minutes. Against the Bearcats, Sheldon totaled 17 points, adding season-highs in assists (6) and rebounds (5). This season, Sheldon leads the OSU offense averaging 19.0 points per game as she’s shooting 31-of-51 (.608) from the floor, 6-of-13 (.462) from three-point range and is 27-of-29 (.931) in free throws.
