Buckeyes hold off Nittany Lions for Halloween Night win in Happy Valley

Ohio State’s first play from scrimmage went for 62 yards and the No. 3 Buckeyes held on to score win No. 2 overall and No. 1 on the road in a Top 25 matchup 38-25 at No. 18 Penn State on Halloween Saturday night.

Justin Fields finished with another stellar day on the stat sheet, accounting for four TD passes as a part of his second 300-yard passing day of the season.

Master Teague rumbled for 110 of the 208 total yards on the ground for for Buckeyes.

For the second game in a row, WRs Garrett Wilson and Chris Olave topped the 100-yard mark. Wilson pulled in 11 catches for 111 yards while Olave had seven grabs for 120 and two scores. It is the first time a pair of Buckeye receivers have reached 100 yards in back-to-back games. Tight end Jeremy Ruckert hauled in a pair of short TDs passes.

Defensively, the Silver Bullets held Penn State to just 75 total yards to take a 24-6 first half lead. DT Tommy Togiai had three sack among his team best seven tackles. Overall, the Buckeyes record five sacks and seven tackles for loss. Marcus Hooker sealed the game with his first career INT in the fourth quarter.
