COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State field hockey team starts the stretch run of its 2022 regular season this weekend with a pair of games away from home. The Buckeyes face Indiana in a key Big Ten contest on Friday afternoon and then tangle with Bellarmine on Sunday in Louisville, Ky.

Basics on the Buckeyes
- Ohio State split a pair of games against top-five conference opponents last weekend, topping No. 5 Iowa, 2-0, before falling to No. 3 Northwestern in overtime, 2-1.
- At 8-6 overall, Ohio State is ranked No. 18 in this week’s NFHCA poll, up three spots from last week.

History vs. Indiana and Bellarmine

What a Win Would Mean
- An Ohio State win on Friday vs. Indiana would be the Buckeyes’ third conference victory of the season and clinch a spot in the Big Ten Tournament, which occurs Nov. 3-6 at Buckeye Varsity Field in Columbus.
- With one regular season conference game remaining next Friday at Michigan, Ohio State would be assured of finishing no lower that seventh in the final standings.

Goldean Sets Program Record
- Friday will be the 86th game in the career of senior midfielder Emma Goldean, which will also establish a new program record.
- Previously, Ohio State’s record for games played was held by Jenn Sciulli, who also played in 85 games between 2008-11.
- Goldean is also closing in on the program record for games started. That mark is also held by Sciulli (85). Goldean has started 82 career games heading into this weekend’s contests.

- Ohio State is 5-1 over its last six games with a five-game winning streak that was snapped last Sunday in a 2-1 loss to No. 3 Northwestern.
