Game Basics
- The NCAA Tournament game between the Seawolves and Buckeyes will be streamed on ESPN3. Live stats are available at OhioStateBuckeyes.com.
- Ohio State is playing in its 14th NCAA Tournament all-time, all under the direction of head coach Lori Walker-Hock, now in her 24th season at OSU.
- Ohio State last played in the NCAA Tournament in 2018 when it faced Wake Forest on the road (L, 0-1 ot, 11/9/2018).
- The Buckeyes were well-represented on the 2021 All-Big Ten Teams. Kayla Fisher and Izzy Rodriguez were named to the First Team, Emma Sears to the Second team and Alyssa Baumbick and Talani Barnett to the Third Team. Rodriguez was named the league’s Defender of the Year and freshman Peyton McNamara earned the conference Freshman of the Year Award in addition to being named to the All-Freshman Team.
- Ohio State defeated Maryland (4-2) in the first game of the Big Ten Regional weekend April 8 at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. Rutgers defeated Michigan State 1-0 in double-overtime to advance for a meeting with the Buckeyes April 11 at JOMS in Columbus. The Scarlet Knights advanced to the Big Ten Tournament with a 1-0 over the Buckeyes.
- Against Maryland, Ohio State trailed 1-0 before scoring the next four goals for the eventual 4-2 victory. Freshman Peyton McNamara scored twice with Kayla Fischer and Alyssa Baumbick each adding a goal in the win.
- Entering postseason play, the Buckeyes were coming off their third-consecutive shutout win, a 1-0 victory in East Lansing April 3. Emma Sears scored, her sixth goal on the year, to give Ohio State its fourth-consecutive win.
