COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 5 Ohio State men’s gymnastics team hosts No. 10 Army and No. 12 William & Mary in a tri-meet on Saturday at 12 p.m. inside the Covelli Center. The meet will be streamed live on B1G+ (subscription required). Admission and parking are free. There will be a meet and greet with the team following the conclusion of competition.
CONCESSIONS UPDATE: Beginning February 3, concessions will resume at all OSU athletic events, with the full menu available for events later in February.
- OSU ranks in the top six in the nation as a team in four events (based on a three-score average) – first on pommel horse (66.667), fourth on floor (68.067), sixth on rings (66.383) and vault (70.950).
- The Buckeyes are the only team in the country to score higher than 67.000 on pommel horse this season, posting a 67.900 in last weekend’s win against the Wolverines.
- Senior Jesse Tyndall was named Big Ten Gymnast of the Week on Monday and College Gymnastic Association Gymnast of the Week on Wednesday, following wins in the all-around and on parallel bars against Michigan last Saturday.
- Ohio State handed No. 4 Michigan its first loss of the season in a 403.600-398.100 decision last Saturday inside Covelli. The Buckeyes posted season-highs on floor (69.700), pommel horse (67.900) and rings (67.550) on their way to their first 400 team score of the season and their first dual-meet win against the Wolverines since 2017.
- OSU had seven individual career-bests against Michigan. Kameron Nelson was the only Buckeye to post more than one career-high, achieving this with a 14.450 on vault and a 13.750 on rings.
- Army holds a 1-2 record in dual meets this season, beating Springfield College but losing to Penn State and Navy. Last weekend, Army finished second out of three teams at the All-Academy Championships with a team score of 381.250, beating Air Force (379.900) but falling to Navy (393.500).
- William & Mary is 0-1 in dual meets this season, falling to Navy by a 390.250-354.600 mark last weekend. W&M finished fifth of six teams at the West Point Open to begin the season and was fourth of five teams at the Navy Open.
