Agnew and Rohde lead men, DeSantis first for the women

COLUMBUS, Ohio –The Ohio State men's and women's cross country teams competed in the Spartan Invitational hosted by Michigan State Friday morning at the Forest Akers East Golf Course in East Lansing, Mich. The Buckeye men were third, led by Jack Agnew and Andrew Rohde who finished 16th and 17th, respectively. Audrey DeSantis was first for the women in 31st, with the Buckeyes sixth as a team.

The Buckeye Men (8K)

The Buckeye men placed third, highlighted by Top 20 finishes from Jack Agnew (24:57.2) and Andrew Rohde (25:00.4).
Colin Cernansky (25:06.7) and Will McGraw were next for Ohio State, both in the Top 30, and Chance Basilone (25:42.2) closed out the Buckeye counters in 42nd.
Cooper Citro, in his first collegiate cross country 8K, Noah Sharp and freshman Nixon Snavely rounded out the Buckeyes in the race.

The Buckeye Women (6K)

Ohio State was led by Top 40 finishes from Audrey DeSantis (21:45.9), Mia Robillard (22:01.3) and Chloe Dostal (22:05.0), with Dostal running a collegiate best.
Freshmen Layla Sahaydak (22:24.4) and Ava Shepard (22:27.9) closed out the Buckeye counters and were in the Top 60.
Allie Kopser was next for the Buckeyes, followed by freshmen Camryn Cayne and Elle Cargould. Sydney Stevenson and Alexa Fortman closed out the Buckeye lineup.

The Schedule Ahead

The Buckeyes will be back in action Oct. 2 in Bethlehem, Pa., in Lehigh's Paul Short Run.
The regular season ends in College Station, Texas with the Arturo Barrios Invitational Oct. 16.
After the Big Ten Championships Oct. 30 in Madison, Wis., the Buckeyes will return to East Lansing for the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championships Nov. 13.
