Buckeyes Earn Four-Set Victory Over Northern Kentucky

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Four Buckeyes recorded double-digit kills as the Ohio State women's volleyball team (2-1) earned a four-set victory (22-25, 25-20, 25-19, 25-17) over Northern Kentucky (1-2) to close out the Jim Stone Challenge on Sunday in the Covelli Center.

- The Buckeyes and the Norse traded points to open the match, and a solo block from Mia Tuman left Ohio State trailing by just one point, 7-6. Kills from Hannah Jones and Alia Schoonover soon tied the score, 8-8.
- A scorcher of a kill from Naomy Govou kept the set tied, 15-15, coming out of the media timeout.
- The Buckeyes claimed the lead, 21-20, after a kill from Kalli Jioshvili-Ravva.
- The score was tied 17 times in the set, which ultimately went to the Norse, 25-22. Govou and Jones each notched four kills in set one.
- The Buckeyes led, 6-5, early in set two following back-to-back blocks by the pair of Jones and Jojo Miller.

- The Norse cut the Buckeye lead to three twice, but Ohio State took the second set, which included five more kills from Govou and four from Jones, 25-20.
- The Buckeyes took a 10-8 lead in set three, with a balanced attack that included kills from Govou, Tuman and Miller.
- Two aces from Jioshvili-Ravva and Govou's 12th kill of the match were part of a 6-0 run that put the Buckeyes ahead of Northern Kentucky by six, 16-17.
- Two more kills and an ace from Govou put the Buckeyes ahead of the Norse, 21-14.
- The Buckeyes iced the 25-19 win in set three on Govou's 15th kill of the match.
- Ohio State took a 9-6 lead to open the fourth set, with point number nine coming on an ace from Bella Humphrey.
- Jones' 14th kill of the match gave the Buckeyes a five-point lead, 15-10, going into the fourth set media timeout.
- The Buckeyes were dominant in the remainder of the set, with Govou, Jioshvili-Ravva and Schoonover notching two more kills apiece.
- Ohio State won the fourth set, 25-17, to secure the match win and finish their weekend at the Jim Stone Challenge, 2-1.
- Govou led all attackers with a career-high 20 kills.
- Also in double digit kills were Jones (14), Schoonover (11) and Jioshvili-Ravva (10). It was a career-high for Schoonover.
- Tuman recorded her second double-double of the young season, with 48 assists and 11 digs.
- Jones, Schoonover and Jioshvili-Ravva each recorded four total blocks.
- Emily Avshalomov had a team-high 20 digs, and Stahler added 10.
- Jioshvili-Ravva, Govou and Humphrey each had two service aces.
