Buckeyes Fall to Bowling Green in Four Sets in Season Opener

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women's volleyball team (0-1) opened the season and the Jim Stone Challenge with a four-set loss (21-25, 21-25, 26-24, 22-25) to Bowling Green (1-0) on Friday evening inside the Covelli Center.

- The Buckeyes and Falcons traded points early and a kill from Naomy Govou and two from Alia Schoonover tied the score, 4-4.
- Bowling Green took a 9-6 lead over the Buckeyes but kills from Kalli Jioshvili-Ravva, Aneta Valentová and Hannah Jones soon tied the score, 10-10.
- Trailing by two, 16-14, back-to-back kills from Schoonover tied the score, 16-16.

- Set three once again began as a back-and-forth affair between the Buckeyes and the Falcons. A huge kill from Valentová put the Buckeyes within one, 8-7, and an ace from Jones tied the score, 8-8.
- A kill from Govou and an error on the Falcons put Ohio State in the lead, 12-11.
- The score was tied at points eight through 13 before three unanswered Buckeye points on kills from Jones (two) and Jioshvili-Ravva gave the home squad a 16-13 advantage.

- Tuman earned her first double-double of the season with 38 assists and tied her career-high 20 digs, leading the team in both categories.
- Jones and Jioshvili-Ravva led a balanced offense with 13 kills apiece. Jones added a career-high 13 digs to earn a double-double.
- Emily Avshalomov joined Tuman with 10 or more digs as she wrapped up the match with 11 digs.
