The Buckeyes remain in Columbus, take on Memphis Friday
- Junior defender Martin Wurschmidt gave Ohio State a 1-0 lead in the 10' on a free kick goal from just outside the box from the top left corner. DePaul's Max Padua was issued a yellow card on a foul against Ohio State's Christian Baumgartner to set up Ohio State's free kick.

- Wurschmidt, a preseason TopDrawerSoccer Top 100 player and one of Ohio State's three Big Ten Players to Watch nominees, transferred to Ohio State from Evansville, where he played for two seasons, scoring five goals for the Aces. His score against the Blue Demons was his first as a Buckeye and sixth career goal.
- Senior Isaiah Chisolm scored the second goal for the Buckeyes in the 29' on a header from a cross delivered from the right side by senior Andre Roberts.

- Roberts now has five career assists.
- Freshman Ryan Sullivan entered in the first half for his first match action as a Buckeye. Classmates Ryan Townhill, Sam Trivisonno and Mathew Samways made their first appearances in the second half.
- DePaul's Gavin Netzel was issued a red card in the 38' after grabbing the jersey of Ohio State's Ryan Hannosh near the top of the box.
- Shortly after, freshman Jack Wayne scored off a rebound from outside top center of the box for a 3-0 lead.

- The Buckeyes went up 4-0 on a Hannosh goal just before halftime. Hannosh, a senior transfer from Butler, snuck one by DePaul keeper Hayden Vostal in the low left corner. It was the first score as a Buckeye for Hannosh and his 11th career score.

- The Buckeyes outshot the Blue Demons 10-0 in the first half, including a 6-0 edge in shots on goal. Ohio State also led 5-0 in corners.
- Wayne was fouled in the box to give the Buckeyes a penalty kick in the 54'. Chisolm converted top left to make it 5-0 Buckeyes. It was the third goal of the season for Chisolm and the 14th career score for the Kentucky transfer.

- Sophomore Nyle Waugh got the final goal of the match in the 90' in the 6-0 win. It was Waugh's second career goal.
- Patrick McLaughlin got the start for the Buckeyes in goal. He improved to 8-2-2 in his 12th career start. The win was his third career shutout.
- The win was No. 150 for the Buckeyes at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. The Buckeyes are 150-75-41 all time since the facility opened in 1999.
