No. 17 Buckeyes Battle No. 25 Clemson to Scoreless Draw

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 17 Ohio State women's soccer team battled No. 25 Clemson to a scoreless draw Sunday afternoon at Historic Riggs Field in the 2026 season opener.
The Buckeyes finished with 10 shots, putting four on frame, while goalkeeper Peighton Northrup in her first collegiate start made five saves to keep the Tigers off the scoreboard.
After a scoreless first half, Ohio State created several opportunities early in the second half. Amanda Schlueter put two shots on frame in a three-minute span, but both were saved by Clemson goalkeeper Nona Reason.
Clemson was reduced to 10 players in the 62nd minute following a red card, and the Buckeyes continued to pressure the Tigers. Ohio State created several chances down the stretch, including shots from Ava Bramblett and Elle Britt, but Reason kept the Buckeyes off the board.
Northrup and the Ohio State defense held strong through a flurry of late Clemson corner kicks, making several key plays to preserve the shutout as the Buckeyes closed out the road opener with a hard-fought draw.

The Buckeyes return home Thursday for their 2026 home opener against Kansas. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium, with the match streaming live on B1G+. The Ohio State Men's Soccer team will also open the season at 8 p.m. as part of a doubleheader.
