Buckeyes host Vanderbilt Saturday in Super Regionals
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The No. 4 ranked Ohio State women's tennis team went undefeated in NCAA tournament action this weekend in Columbus. The Buckeyes swept Notre Dame 4-0 Sunday after a 4-0 victory over Youngstown State Saturday. Ohio State is now 25-4 overall and the Irish end their season 19-10. Â

The NCAA Tournament No. 3 seed Buckeyes will host No. 14 seed Vanderbilt at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Auer Tennis Complex for the NCAA Super Regional match. Admission and parking are free. Â

Against Notre Dame, the Buckeyes took the lead with doubles victories from Sophia Cisse-Ignatiev and Audrey Spencer and Flora Johnson and Luciana Perry. The singles points were clinched consecutively by Hephzibah Oluwadare, Nao Nishino and Spencer in straight sets to give the Buckeyes the 4-0 win. Â

How it HappenedÂ
- On court three doubles Sophia Cisse-Ignatiev and Audrey Spencer beat Akari Matsuno and MariLouise van Zyl 6-1.  Â
- To earn the doubles point for the Buckeyes, court one's duo of No. 23 ranked Flora Johnson and Luciana Perry topped Bianca Molnar and Jessica Kovalcik 6-2. Johnson and Perry improved to 15-3 this spring. Â
- Freshman Hephzibah Oluwadare beat Kovalcik in straight sets 6-2, 6-2 to clinch the first singles point on court six. Â
- To give the Buckeyes a 3-0 lead, No. 76 ranked Nao Nishino topped Rylie Hanford on court four 6-3, 6-4. Nishino's win was the team high 30th overall victory of the season. Â
- No. 123 ranked Spencer clinched the victory on court five against Gabriella Rawles 6-3, 6-4.Â
- Nishino and Spencer lead the Buckeyes with 16 dual wins this season.Â
